Worship and Music

Worship

Holy Trinity has four services, each featuring its own unique style of music and worship.  On Saturdays, we feature a more contemporary service led by our praise band.  Sunday we have three services starting with a simple 7:30am service with organ and hymns.  Our largest service is at nine on Sundays.  It is a Rite II service, with our family choir normally providing music with the complement of either our organ or piano.  On occasion, especially approaching high feasts, the Holy Trinity Ringers will play anthems on the bells or accompany the choir.  The 11:15 service is small enough to hold in our historic chapel.  Situated next to the memorial garden, the chapel is a truly special building where one can feel the power of over 136 years of congregants coming to worship.

Rite I

This is a quiet, traditional service. We use Rite I from The Book of Common Prayer and sing two well-known hymns. This service is held in the church sanctuary.

Rite II

This is our most popular service, and it is held in the church sanctuary. We use Rite II from The Book of Common Prayer. The music is a blend of traditional hymns and praise music. The Family Choir leads the music. Nursery care is provided for young children. Sunday School, Youth Group, Adult Forums and Coffee Hour all take place immediately following this service.

Holy Eucharist Rite 1

This service is Holy Eucharist Rite 1 and takes place in our Historic Chapel. The Historic Chapel is the oldest building in the city of Melbourne in continuous use. It is a lovely prayer-filled space, revitalized in 2019. Music is traditional hymns on organ and piano.

Kenyan Eucharistic Service

On Saturday evening, a  Kenyan Eucharistic Service is used. It has more interactive responses which draw you into a closer worship experience. It is a casual service with a relaxed, contemporary style. The music is led by Accidental Grace, a praise group with piano, guitar, bass, and vocals. Projection screens make it easy to participate. This service is held in the church sanctuary.

Music

Music is a crucial part of Holy Trinity's liturgies, offered to the glory of God and for the nurture of his people. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church provides opportunities to everyone interested in creating glorious music to praise God. Between the Family Choir, the Trinity Ringers hand bell choir, and the praise band, Accidental Grace, everyone can find the music style they love and which brings them closer to God.
